Mechanism of ion and lipid transport
Our mission
Membrane proteins are diverse nanomachines that mediate a host of cellular processes and comprise important pharmacological targets. Our group uses state-of-the-art structural and biophysical approaches to unravel the molecular principles underlying membrane transport and excitability. We seek to obtain a mechanistic understanding of how ion channels and lipid scramblases work in health and disease and to develop novel, effective, and safe therapeutics.
